Setting options
You may change the Time Sled settings by using the action button File\Options.
Storage bookmark. This bookmark enables you to set the storage type for the Time Sled data (only with Time Sled Lotus Notes integration pack).
Type
Log files. In this case Time Sled will save the data into the Log directories as structured text files. The program Time Sled Reporter has been included into the package to provide with the ability to view and analyze the data stored in this way. If you select this type, the bookmark Projects becomes available. There you can define the List of Projects the Time Sled will be working with, as well as their rates for the automated calculation of the totals value by periods.
Lotus Notes database. For this type of data storage you have to have the Lotus Notes Client installed locally. According to the Windows Registry settings, Time Sled will use the ID you used the last tame for the Lotus Notes authorization. At that, all data will be stored in the Notes database. When making the first setting, you will have to indicate the server type for database storage (Local/Remote), the full name of the database file (Database path).
After having restarted Time Sled, you will be offered to create the Notes database for storing the data from the template included into the package (tslog.ntf).The database will be created according to the location indicated by you.
The following steps are necessary to have the database properly set for working:
1. Start the Notes Client.
2. Click on the Open Notes DB button in Time Sled.
3. Shut down Time Sled (File->Shut down).
4. Create the Project documents in the database.
5. Close the database in the Notes Client.
Lotus Notes database properties
Server type
Local. In this case the database will be located locally on your computer. You have to follow one rule when working in this mode: you can modify the data in the database through the Lotus Notes Client only with Time Sled turned off, otherwise the errors related to the database's file capture may occur during the program's working.
Remote. With this mode you have to indicate the Lotus Domino server the database will be located on. You will need to have the proper rights for the database creation on the indicated server in order to create the database. This mode allows you to work simultaneously with the data through the Lotus Notes client as well as through Time Sled.
User password. You can enter your Lotus Notes password to avoid entering it every time Time Sled is started. It will be saved as encrypted. The algorithm of the encryptment does not guarantee the absolute security of the password entered by you from decoding, therefore we do not recommend to use this option in case other users have access to your computer.
You can also use the in-built Lotus Notes option in order to avoid entering the password every time Time Sled is started: select File\Tools\User ID... in the menu. After the password has been entered, you will see the dialogue window User ID. Check the option Don't prompt for a password from other Notes-based programs. Then Time Sled will no longer ask you to enter the password except for the case when it gets started after the Lotus Notes Client.
Options bookmark. Here you can set additional options for working of Time Sled.
Load Time Sled on Windows startup. If this option is turned on, Time Sled will get started automatically at Windows startup.
Load Notes to do list. If this option is turned on, Time Sled will load the To Do List from the personal calendar of a Lotus Notes user.
Hide to tray. This options allows hiding the main window of the program at starting.
Hide splash screen. This options allows hiding the splash window with information about program at starting.
Enable auto save. If this option is turned on, Time Sled will save the log entries at the set interval. Otherwise, the saving will take place upon stopping the task only.
