Data Grouping

This functionality is intended for changing the grouping order of log records. The change in data affects how the data is displayed in Data Tree, Totals table, Time/Rate charts and Printable Report.

Grouping tree. Log records may be grouped by five (5) main fields: Year, Month, Day, Project and Task. To change the grouping order, it is necessary to right-click on one of the fields in a grouping tree. Then, with the help of the buttons “Up” and “Down” located below the grouping tree, you can set a new position for a selected field in the grouping order. You may also “drag” a selected field to a needed position with the help of the mouse.

Date format. If you wish that your data would be displayed linearly without an additional grouping by month and year, you may find helpful to use the option “Short”. In this case, the data grouping will reduce to 3 levels: Date, Project, Task. To have the 5-level grouping back, check in the option “Expanded”.

After you have defined a new order for data grouping, click on the button “Apply”. TS Reporter will re-group the data and automatically open the Data Tree section to view the new data grouping.

Note. Clicking on the button “Apply” leads to re-grouping of data and to its filtration according to the settings of the Data Filter section.
