System options

You can access the System settings by the following ways:

  • Select the option File\Options in the main menu.
  • Click on the button Options on the Tool bar.

Backup path. Displays the path to where file versions of Changes Saver get saved. You can change this path by clicking on the button Change. In the displayed dialogue, it is necessary to select a new path and/or create a new directory for storing versions. The checkbox Set compression allows to select the compression attribute for a selected directory if the file System supports compression. In this case saved versions files will be archived automatically by Windows and take less space on the disk. Compression setting will not in any way affect the System functionality. After clicking on the Change button in the dialogue, Changes Saver will move all created versions files to a new directory. This operation may take a few minutes.

Language*. It is possible to choose one of the languages supported by the language file for the Changes Saver interface. By default, Changes Saver tries to find the language support file for the language used by Windows. If such file has not been found, the English support file will be used.

* If you have not found the support file for your language, you are able to create the support file for your language yourself. To do that, open the folder Langs in the directory where Changes Saver has been installed. Select one of the support files with a language you are familiar with. Copy it to your new file in the same folder Langs. Name it in accordance with the name of your language (for example, French.ini) and translate all phrases in this file, located to the right of the sign ‘=’ to your language. If you find your translation to be successful, please, send it to the author of this program and he will include it into the Changes Saver distributive.
