Working with Main menu

File. Describes actions with Changes Saver files.

  • Add new. Adds a new file for monitoring.
  • Properties. Calls the dialogue for setting parameters of backup copying for a file selected in the Files List.
  • Start/Stop monitoring. Starts/stops monitoring of a selected file in the Files List.
  • Make version. Creates a version for a selected file in the Files List even at a stopped monitoring. If the file modification date matches the modification date of the latest version, then a new version does not get created.
  • Reassign. Reassigns created versions of a selected file in the Files List to a different file. This functionality is helpful in a situation when a file has been moved to another directory or re-named and Changes Saver agent is unable to find it.
  • Open. Opens a file selected in the Files List.
  • Delete. Deletes an entry on a file selected in the Files List together with its versions.
  • Options. Calls the dialogue of the System settings.
  • Exit. Closes Changes Saver.

Folder. Describes actions with folders.

  • Add folder. Allows to add a new folder for monitoring. After a required folder is selected in the dialog window, the System will open the Properties dialog of its backup.
  • Folder properties. Opens the Properties dialog of a selected folder backup. The other way of selecting this dialog is to left double click on a selected folder.
  • Reassign folder. Allows to change the folder's name in case the folder has been copied to another location or renamed.
  • Delete folder. Allows to delete versioning for a selected folder. Attention! At the versioning deletion, all versions of all files of a selected folder will be deleted.

View. Allows to set parameters of the Changes Saver Monitor interface.

  • Tool bar. The Show option in the menu allows to Hide/Show the Changes Saver Monitor toolbar. The option Show captions switches on/off the display of button names. The option List captions turns on the display of button names to the right of the icon.
  • File list. Allows to select one of the three modes of viewing Files List: Report style (detailed information presented in a table format), List style (list divided into columns) and Icons style (each file is represented by an icon and brief name).
  • Versions list. Allows to select one of the three modes of viewing Versions List: Report style (detailed information presented in a table format), List style (list divided into columns) и Icons style (each file is represented by an icon and brief name).

Versions. Describes actions with versions of a file selected in the Files List.

  • Open. Opens a selected version for viewing or editing.
  • Open location. Opens location containing the file of a selected version.
  • Delete. Deletes a selected version.
  • Clear versions. Deletes all versions of a selected file, excluding the most recent one.

Help. Information about the System

  • About/Registration. Calls the dialogue with the information about the System’s version and with the fields for entering the registration information.
  • Help. Open the Help file of the System.
